Welcome

The Shoalhaven Dressage Club is the largest dressage club on the south coast of NSW, Australia. We have been established for over 20 years and now have over 100 members. Even though we have a large membership, our club is very friendly. We are all about enjoying dressage and having fun. Our riders range from beginners to Australian National team members!

Competitons

SDC holds six dressage competitions per year. We offer dressage tests at every level from Preparatory right through to Grand Prix. We also have Freestyle tests and run a Young Horse Qualifier. The Club Championships are very popular, being well supported by sponsors with lots of prizes. Trophies are also awarded to winners of the annual Pointscore competition.

Juniors, Young Riders, Ponies and Veteran Horses

SDC offers special awards for Juniors, Young Riders, ponies and veteran horses. The club championships and the annual point score includes prizes in these categories. Also, Junior tests are held at every competition, with a discount entry fee of $10.

Training, Clinics and Club Activities

The Shoalhaven Dressage Club works hard to provide its members with opportunities to improve their dressage and enrich their enjoyment of the sport.

• Member's Club Days are low-key training days for members to practice their dressage tests and have them scored by a judge, without the pressure of competition.
• Instruction Clinics are organised periodically throughout the year, with some of the best available dressage coaches. Past instructors include Heath and Rozzie Ryan, Roger Fitzhardinge and Carlos de Cleermaeker.
• SDC has recently introduced a Rider Scholarship, with the winner receiving free tuition at one of these clinics.
• The annual Bus Trip to the Sydney CDI is a great way for members to catch-up and socialise whilst enjoying watching Australia's best dressage combinations.
• We also often organise social events for fundraising, education, and just to have an opportunity to get together!

SDC competitions and Member's Club Days are held at Worrigee Equestrian Common (just south of Nowra). We are very fortunate to have these beautiful grounds, which offer the following;

If you aren't already a member of Shoalhaven Dressage Club, why not join? New members are very welcome and receive a discount of $3 per associate entry and $7 per official entry. If you attend six competitons, and ride two tests per competition, you can save up to $84! You also receive a bi-monthly newsletter, and the opportunity to attend Member's Club Days, Instruction Clinics, and other activities organised by the Shoalhaven Dressage Club.
