SDC Annual Point Score RulesPlease note, rule changes for 2008 are outlined in red. Both owner and rider must be current financial members of SDC.Points taken from date of membership. Horses may win at more than one level, however, after having one at a certain level they will no longer be eligible to compete for points at that level (excluding FEI). Preparatory tests are not eligible for points, except for Junior riders. Entrants must compete at a minimum of 50% of SDC competitions held over the year. Competitions where no points are gained will still count towards the 50% attendance. Preliminary to FEI Level: horses must obtain at least 55% of possible marks to be eligible for points. Points are awarded on TWO best placings at each level. Points as follows 1st - 5, 2nd - 4, 3rd - 3, 4th - 2, 5th - 1. The horse can have more than one rider over the year points are allocated to the horse, not the rider). In the event of a tie the horse with highest average percentage for the year will be the winner. YOUNG RIDER (24 years and under, riding in open classes). Riders must obtain at least 55% of total possible marks to be eligible for points. The highest placed Young Rider in each test will earn points even if they have not won or placed in the open class. The next highest placed Young Rider in that test will receive points for second place, etc. Points as above. Riders MUST nominate on entry form to be eligible. If more than one horse is ridden, points will be taken for each horse and not combined. JUNIOR RIDERS (Under 17 years, riding in junior classes). There is no minimum percentage for junior riders to be eligible for points. Points as above. Preparatory tests will be included.
